Job Summary:
The Production Porter exhibits a high sense of accountability for workload and enjoys process improvement and efficiency. This person needs to be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and be a self-motivated individual who can actively engage with other team members. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining the production facility, which includes the area around each station, ensuring it is clear of debris, and production waste is emptied in their proper bins. The Production Porter will operate forklifts, and floor sweepers with caution, focus and adhere to all safety standards. The Production Porter will maintain flow and organization of the external lot, intake new chassis as they arrive, maintain a key management system for all chassis, bring vehicles inside for production as needed, and perform small prep work on the chassis once it is brought in.  To ensure success, you should exhibit safe driving skills, have a positive attitude, safety mindset, and the ability to multitask.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in organizing the parking lot daily.
  • Doing an intake on every chassis delivery, which includes entering information into a system to track inventory.
  • Noting damages to units upon delivery.
  • Keep the back lot organized.
  • Bring vehicles in when needed by production.
  • Prepping the chassis for the production group.
  • Maintaining the work area and ensuring material dumpsters are emptied to keep production working on their tasks.

Work Environment: Vehicle manufacturing floor and outdoor parking lots.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • 18 years old or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Forklift operation experience.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • CDL with passenger endorsement.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Vehicle manufacturing experience.

Travel Requirements: Occasional local travel in company vehicles.
